Martin King is switching up his routine, as he makes the transition from The Six O’Clock Show, to his new spot on Ireland AM.
After taking up a weekend role on Virgin Media’s breakfast show, fans were concerned about how it would impact his radio show. The former weather man has been hosting Q102’s mid-morning show, every Saturday morning from 11am since 2017.
But fans can rest assured, he is making time for both his television and radio duties.
Fans can now tune in from 3pm – 7pm for Martin’s radio show as switches up his schedule to work around Ireland AM.
Martin isn’t the only newcomer joining the Ireland AM team.
After stepping in for Muireann O’Connell earlier this year, Katja Mia will also be joining the team full-time as a reporter.
Don’t worry, Muireann and Tommy will be staying firmly where they are, as Martin and Katja will be joining Elaine Crowley on the couch from Friday to Sunday.
The pair took up their new roles last week, and won plenty of praise from viewers.
As for his role on The Six O’Clock Show, Love Island winner, Greg O’Shea, will be stepping into the role after he stepped in to cover when Martin or Karen Koster were off in recent months.
He, of course, presented alongside Doireann Garrihy on RTÉ 2FM after his stint on Love Island to the delight of listeners.
He also showcased his presenting skills on Virgin Media’s rugby series, The Late Tackle with Muireann O’Connell back in 2020.
Sharing the news on social media, Greg enthused: “I’ve been wanting to tell you this for so long and now I finally can… I’m going to be a presenter on the @sixoclockshow !!!
“This is an absolute dream come true. I’ve done a couple years of presenting but I never thought I’d actually have a show. I’m so excited to start this journey and it’s made even better I’ll be beside the lovely @karenkostertv.”
