Maeve Madden has made her platform to empower women.
When she started Queens Don’t Quit in 2020 she could have never imagined the success the concept and brand would receive.
Five years later, she’s still going strong. She teases what’s next on her plate at this year’s Platinum VIP Style Awards.
Maeve, you’re all go. But what’s keeping you busy at the moment?
Right now, we’re really focusing on the clothing brand that we’ve called Queens Don’t Quit and that is very busy. So we’re launching our summer collection within the next couple of weeks hopefully. It’s the most stressful thing I’ve ever done in my whole life. I thought fitness was hard but no no. I have a lot of respect for people who have clothing lines.
Queens Don’t Quit has been so successful. Could you have ever expected such a positive reaction?
With Queens Don’t Quit it’s so amazing to know we’ll always meet pretty much an Irish person anywhere in the world. I feel like every Irish woman probably did a Queens Don’t Quit workout at some stage during lockdown and I think it’s really amazing the community that we have built. I always say we, because it’s me and the community together. Everybody built it together and I think that’s really important and everybody’s so supportive of each other. I never thought that I would find a group of girlies that really do empower each other every day and it’s really amazing.
Have you found that fitness culture has changed in the past few years?
It goes through trends. I mean trends change all the time, which is fascinating that our bodies are trends now. Men no, just women. So, I always try to reiterate, just constantly educate the women of Queens Don’t Quit on not to follow trends and to stick to their core values. To know that their best weight is when they’re feeling healthy and happy and that should always be the goal. Not what someone looks like, you know, if you have big hips and a small waist or whatever it is like it’s starting to see that it’s not the goal. The goal is just to always be healthy and happy.
