“What a difference a year makes,” tweeted radio star Louise McSharry earlier today – and how right she is. Exactly one year ago, she was given the crippling news that she had cancer. Today, she’s putting the last minute touches to her wedding, which takes place tomorrow.
The brave 2fm host was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma this time last year, and after a tough battle, she beat the disease. In March, she updated her followers by announcing she had been given the all clear.
And in 24 hours she will finally walk down the aisle and wed long-term boyfriend Gordan Spierin, something she “cannot wait” to do.
This day last year I was diagnosed with cancer. Today I’m starting my wedding celebrations. What a difference a year makes.

VIP Towers is very excited to see how stunning the bride will look on her big day – and we’ll also make sure to tune into her new documentary which shows how she planned her wedding while getting chemo.
The Reality Bites show F**k Cancer is coming up on RTÉ 2 on Thursday September 17th and it’s a doc we will definitely be setting our Sky Plus for.
The programme takes us inside Louise’s world with cameras capturing lots of the big moments of her year as well as Instagram posts, tweets and self-shot video diaries documenting the good, the bad and the ugly of cancer treatment.
From shaving her head to trying on wedding dresses while bald to her hen party and the big day itself, F**k Cancer will show the radio presenter’s unique dark humour and wry attitude to dealing with a serious illness at the age of just 31 (when diagnosed).
Be prepared for laughter, tears, highs, lows, twists and turns and some irreverent language! But for now, VIP will keep you updated with her wedding pics as soon as they’re in!
