Lottie Ryan opens up about concerns for husband Fabio’s family in Italy amid coronavirus pandemic

Lottie Ryan has opened up about her concerns for her husband Fabio’s family amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2FM presenter’s husband Fabio is from a small town in northern Italy, where both Lottie and her family were due to visit in April.

Speaking with Kathryn Thomas on RTE Radio 1, Lottie explained how the upcoming trip was cancelled due to the crisis, and how she soon became concerned about her husband’s family in Italy as the virus took hold of the country.

“Particularly the reason we were actually going to Italy is because my husband’s family are Italian and thankfully through the past couple of months, they’ve been healthy and everyone is in good form.”

“Initially we were very concerned but he’s from such a tiny village in Italy that they were relatively, thank God, unaffected because their village is on top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere.” she continued.

The 34-year-old then went on to say that she feels grateful for her family’s health and is looking forward to the future post coronavirus.

“Thank God they weren’t in a big city so that was something to be grateful for” she said.

“But it got to the point where it was on all our doorsteps and I definitely, for the past couple of months have been very anxious.

“I’m grateful to be finally feeling as if we’re taking some baby steps forward.

Ireland has now entered phase 3 of the roadmap for easing the restrictions of COVID-19, with many retail, hospitality, and beauty businesses now open again.
