So much to do, so little time!

Now that the winter weather is well and truly upon us, the urge to spend your weekend curled up on the couch watching Netflix is more tempting than ever, but if you can manage to get yourself out and about and resist hibernation you won’t be disappointed – there’s so many events that’ll provide you with endless entertainment. Here are VIP’s top five things to do:

Show and Tell at The Smock Alley Theatre

Show and Tell is returning to The Smock Alley Theatre for it’s annual one-day Creative Conference & Christmas Fair. The event will have talks from some of the most creative and innovative people across the country including; Aoife McElwain (Slow Series & Forkful TV), Eithne Shortall (Sunday Times), Dave Smith (Mabos), Anna Cosgrave (Repeal Project), Joanne McNally (Comedian) and many more. Tickets are priced at €40 and grant access to the full day of talks and workshops (student concessions and group discounts available). It takes place this Saturday from 11am-6pm.

Alice In Winter Wonderland Penthouse Pop-up

Why not escape from the boring every day world into a magical land where time stands still and you can have a hookah with a caterpillar? This party will celebrate everything wacky and wonderful from Lewis Caroll’s novel. Delight in a Winter Wonderland theme with a blanket of snow on the  rooftop of the Morgan Bar, chestnuts roasting on open fires, bear skin throws to keep you warm and a concoction of wildly wonderful Winterland cocktails made by their expert mixologists. The Penthouse Party starts at 8pm in The Morgan Bar, Dublin on 18th and 19th November. – and best of all there’s no cover charge!

Tippletown Festival

The festival celebrating the world of great drinks is returning to Wig Wam, Middle Abbey Street this year – and it promises to be better than ever! The festival is packed full of activities for all kinds of drink lovers including; Vice Coffee Tasting, Brewtonic Beer Pong and Opihr Arabian Nights. Tipple town takes place across November 19th-20th and is a free festival, tickets are only required if you wish to participate in the Bloom Afternoon Pamper Event or Off the Cuffe Bitters Workshop, for full details and event times click here.

Friday night at the Gilmore’s

There’s a Gilmore Girls party happening in Dublin tonight – and it could quite possibly be the most exciting night on the winter social calendar. Bad Bobs in Temple Bar is hosting Friday night at the Gilmore’s, and is set to draw fans from all over the country. There’ll be cocktails galore, prizes for the best costume on the night, plus coffee, coffee coffee! The Friday night party starts at 10pm and goes on until 3am.

Hendrick’s Chambers of the Curious

The delightfully peculiar Hendrick’s Chambers of the Curious is visiting Dublin’s City Assembly House on 18th-26th November. Hendrick’s Chambers of the Curious hold extraordinary devices, unique experts and fine cocktails together in an environment of curious stimulation. Participants are promised an experience which will surprise, delight, shock and even disturb them just a little. Each event is approximately 3 hours in duration start to finish.
