Cork Midsummer Festival : June 16th-25th
Midsummer festivals are happening all around Ireland this weekend but Cork city are definitely offering up a weekend of events to remember. Picnic in the Park being one of the most notable events taking place during this week long festival, which also sees market stalls spread across the town, art exhibitions and theatre workshops packed into the week. The 1975 at Malahide Castle: Saturday June 17th
British rock band The 1975 take the stage at Malahide Castle this saturday supported by Palewaves and Ireland’s very own The Blizzards. The gig is sure to be a hit among concert goers at this historic venues. Tickets are still available an can be purchased here.
BIA Lover Food Festival: June 16th-18th
This Galway food festival takes place every year in different locations around the town of Athenry. Their self proclaimed objective is ‘to bring passionate foodies together to celebrate the quality and diversity of Irish food’, so get out and support the West of Ireland’s huge tradition of great food, along with a whole host of other exciting events. Dublin Kite Festival: Sunday June 18th
This annual event is coming back to North Bull Island this Sunday, and promises much more that just kites. Musical performances and food stalls will be on hand to keep the whole family entertained while the kids (or adults) try their hand at kite flying against the strong coastal breezes. Lots of professional flyers will be on hand for the event to help brush up on your skills. The festival is a free and ticketless event and is sure to be a great day for all.
