Louise McSharry has opened up about her cancer diagnoses.
The radio DJ and writer was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2014 and after receiving treatment, revealed that she was in remission in March 2015.
Now on World Cancer Day Louise is sharing her experience to encourage others to seek medical advice if ever they don’t feel right.
“It’s almost exactly four years since I finished my treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. If you don’t feel right, go to the doctor. If you’re not happy with their response, go to another one. Listen to your body and trust your instincts,” she said on Twitter
The presenter who is currently pregnant with her second child also reminded followers about her inciteful documentary surround her cancer diagnoses and treatment.
“Cancer is about living as much as it is dying. The doc @aoifstokes made with me about my experience is still available on the @rteplayer, and has been useful to some people post-diagnosis. Search ‘fuck cancer’. (I am proud of it but possibly more proud of the fact that we were the first people to get the F-word in a programme title on RTE.)” she said.
Louise also shared two photos with a four-year difference, showing people how much can change in a few short years.
“January 2015 vs January 2019, one wedding and one toddler later, and another baby on the way. Just in case anyone needs to see that life can move on.”
