Legendary Irish actor Liam Neeson is back on the scene after being cast in Neil Jordan’s upcoming movie.

Reteaming once again with the famous director, Neeson will play a convict set for release who is forced to break a terrorist out of prison.

Entitled The Riker’s Ghost, the gripping thriller will be a “unique take on the prison escape.”

“A bare-knuckle ride from incarceration to freedom, by someone who just wants to finish his term,” Jordan said of the project.

As previously mentioned, this will not be the first time Neeson and Jordan have joined forces having previously worked together on the 2022 neo-noir crime thriller Marlowe, Neeson’s 100th film as an actor.

You may also recognise Jordan from his work on the 1992 film The Crying Game, a thriller about the internal conflict of an IRA provisional member after he builds a bond with a captured British soldier.

Co-written by Jordan, Sean O’Keefe and Brian Rudnick, The Riker’s Ghost, is set to begin filming this September.

It also won’t just be just Neeson and Jordan reuniting. Producing The Riker’s Ghost are Alan Moloney and Steve Richards, with Richards having produced several projects Neeson has worked on in the past.

While Moloney recently worked with Neeson and Jordan on the thriller Marlowe.

Speaking about the new project Moloney said: “I am thrilled to be joining forces again with Neil and Liam.”

“We have put together an elite team to support Neil’s scripted and directorial vision. This one will have you on the edge of your seat.”
