Former star of RTE’s The Clinic, actress Leigh Arnold, hosted the first ever Patron Lunch in aid of FirstLight in Dublin’s Fade Street Social restaurant last Friday
FirstLight offers support and information and promotes research into the sudden, unexpected, often unexplained deaths of infants and young children. It’s a charity that is particularly close to Leigh’s heart, as she herself lost her baby son Flynn to to SIDA (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) in 2013, a tragic event which she speaks movingly about in the current issue of VIP.
Speaking about the lunch, Leigh said that the awareness and funds raised today will help FirstLight to continue their development of the CONI (Care of Next Infant) programme, which helps parents who have suffered a sudden and unexpected death of a baby, and often feel anxious when they have another baby.
Guests at the charity lunch included Leigh’s husband Steve Davis, her sister Chloe Arnold, Katie Jane Golden, designer Helen Cody, and comedian Alan Shortt who was MC on the day.
