Laura Whitmore is a proud Irish woman.
And she couldn’t be more excited to be home. Her eyes light up as we chat on the stage of the 3Olympia ahead of the opening of the now iconic, 2:22: A Ghost Story.
She will be in Ireland for the entire summer and we’re sure that her native Bray will get more than a few visits.
It really is a homecoming she tells us.
Speaking to VIP Magazine, she confesses: “This is the longest I’ve been home for the last 15 years. I am usually here for a week, I pop over and back. But this is the most time I’ve spent in Ireland consecutively since I left. It’s been really, really lovely. Especially with the cast, I’ve been able to show them around Ireland.”
And of course, she is joined by her husband, Iain Stirling and their young daughter.
“The whole family are here, it’s wonderful,” she beams.
She jokes: “I am enforcing an Irish accent on my child as well. Cillian Murphy energy! It’s true, that’s why he brought his kids home as well.”

While she is loving being home, she has a very busy schedule with her nightly and sometimes twice a day shows in the 3Olympia.
“I loved doing the show the first time around. I was very lucky that so many people flew over to London to see it,” she admits.
“But to be able to bring it here, the theatre world here is just wonderful, there are so many incredible Irish plays but to be able to bring something a little more contemporary over has been so fun. Even the reaction from the last few nights have been brilliant.”
And it’s been extremely positive so far with the previews happening this week with Laura saying: “We’ve had standing ovations every night!”
2:22: A Ghost Story opens in the 3Olympia on June 26th and runs to the 11th of August. You can grab your tickets here
