Boyzone fans are in for another emotional ride as Sky has officially confirmed a brand-new documentary following the huge success of last year’s Boyzone: No Matter What.

The upcoming one-off special, titled One for the Road, will follow the band as they prepare to reunite for two major comeback shows at London’s Emirates Stadium this summer.

Featuring Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch, the documentary promises to take viewers behind the scenes as the group reunites “for the very last time”.

According to Sky, the documentary will explore the band’s complicated history, lingering tensions and the emotional weight of returning to the stage years after their final tour in 2019.

“This time, they want to go out on their own terms and have the send-off that they – and the fans – so badly want,” Sky said in a statement.

The broadcaster also described One for the Road as “warm, funny, raw and revealing”, adding that it will focus on friendship, forgiveness, ageing and legacy, as well as the bond Boyzone still shares with fans decades after first finding fame.

The announcement comes after Boyzone: No Matter What became a huge hit for Sky Docs, with audiences praising the documentary’s honesty and emotional storytelling.

Executive producer Dov Freedman said the team was “incredibly privileged” to continue working with the band on what he called “their final chapter”.

Meanwhile, Sky’s Head of Documentary Commissioning, Hayley Reynolds, said the previous series sparked “an extraordinary outpouring of love” for the group and hinted that this reunion may never have happened had the band not first revisited their story so openly.

Boyzone: One for the Road is set to premiere on Sky and NOW later this year.
