Keith Duffy has shared an emotional goodbye to musician Christy Dignam.
He is the latest celebrity to pay tribute to the Aslan frontman who sadly passed away this week.
The Boyzone star took to social media to brand Christy a “genius”.
Christy passed away this week after living with a rare blood condition for 10 years which saw him be moved to palliative care earlier this year.
Keith posted a picture of Christy in his younger years.
“Christy,” he began alongside a heart emoji and the Irish flag.
“I loved his Genius and honesty his performance and unique greatness!
“He was a true talented performer singer songwriter! If you can’t handle the truth well don’t ask the question! Congratulations Christy on a wonderful career, I hope you are rocking crazy world in heaven! RIP CHRISTY”
Christy Dignam’s family confirmed that he had passed away earlier this week.
“On behalf of my family, it is with a broken heart that we convey the news of my father’s passing, Christy Dignam,” his daughter Kiera Dignam wrote.
“Dad peacefully left us where he wanted to, at home today 4pm Tuesday, June 13th 2023, after a courageously long-fought battle, surrounded by his family.
“We ask that you honour our family’s need for privacy during this immensely painful period. Let us all hold him in our hearts and cherish the remarkable life of a talented singer, great storyteller and amazing person.
“We thank you so much for your love and support shown to us. Kathryn, Kiera, Darren, Cian, Ava, Jake and our extended family x.”
His family shared his funeral details which will take place on Friday. A celebration of his life to take place in his native Finglas before a private funeral.
