Katja Mia is waking the nation up everyone weekend on Ireland AM.
The social media star has been getting used to the early mornings alongside Elaine and Martin.
She’s no stranger to presenting, she got her big break when she entered a competition to find new ambassadors and presenters for Love Island’s new presenter, Maya Jama’s skincare brand.
So did Maya have any words of advice for Katja when she got the gig?
“Actually when I did the cover for Muireann back in October she was super supportive and sent me a message,“ she tells VIP Magazine at the launch of Virgin Media’s spring schedule.
“We don’t have that many years between us in age, but I look to her as an absolute icon and idol. She was one of the first people who gave me my start in presenting and really believed in me. It was really great to have that support from her.“
Of course, she will be watching Maya on screen every night for the next few weeks as she takes over from our very own, Laura Whitmore.
“Even now she’s joining winter Love Island I’m so excited to stay tuned every week. She is a light on everyone’s screens. It’s been really special to have that almost relationship with her.“
Elaine and Martin were all praise for Katja when we chatted to the trio.
