Johnny Ward has opened up about how he feels returning to the dating scene in a recent interview with Dublin Live.
When asked if he would consider online dating during lockdown he said; “Online dating, ah no. Do you know what, I’ve used the Zoom thing just like people I’ve worked with for quizzes and stuff, same with House Party, but not dates no.”
Johnny split with his Dancing with the Stars partner, Emily Barker earlier this year but it seems he isn’t ready to rejoin the world of dating just yet. Explaining further he said; “I’m just too newly single and I think that is something that, before I do all that I have to remember who I am and find myself before I jump into anything again.”
In terms of work, the Fair City star revealed that since his father’s death earlier this year he had been using it as a distraction from his grief so he has decided to take a break.
“My plan was to take a break from January until Coppers (The Musical) just because the last, I suppose since DWTS I didn’t really stop, I just kept going. And I was grieving and I was down over my father.”
“And I just camouflage grief with work and it is a good thing to do but it does catch up with you in the end.”
In a recent interview on the Six O’Clock Show he has shared that he was using the time in lockdown to better himself by exercising six days a week, meditating as well as stopping drinking and smoking.
“I just said, let’s set a challenge. Let’s have a substitute. I’ve been working out, I’ve cut out drinking, I’ve cut out cigarettes the last two months.”
“I never did meditation before, but my friends sent me a 21 Day Challenge and I don’t know what I’ll do when it’s over.”
“Learning to breathe and doing these meditations makes you see life in a different way altogether.”
