Jennifer Zamparelli has revealed that when her husband popped the question he had planned a romantic proposal.
The couple were on holiday in Italy when Lau had planned to ask her on the beach. Speaking about the day on her RTÉ 2fm show, Jennifer revealed how she “ruined” it.
“I ruined my own proposal. We were in the South of Italy and Lau had big plans…”
The 40-year-old shared that he wanted to ask her on the beach when they first arrived but that she didn’t want to go saying; “I’m cold I’m not going outside.”
Continuing she revealed that they were on the balcony where she was in “a foul humour” and he asked her; “he should’ve just left it, I don’t know why he did it…”
“He got down on one knee and asked me, and the first thing I said was, ‘Are you sure?’ He was freaked with me… he was down on one knee still waiting for an answer and I was like ‘ahh okay then.’”
The Dancing With the Stars host went on to say that the couple had always said they would never get married, so she was shocked by the proposal.
Jennifer and her husband, Lau married in an intimate ceremony back in 2014, at Castle Leslie, Co Monaghan. The couple decided to keep their wedding small, with only 74 guests.
They now share two children together, Florence who is five, and Enzo, two.
