Northern Ireland actor, Jamie Dornan has been awarded an honorary degree from Queen’s University Belfast (QUB).
Jamie was one of nine honorary graduates recognised at QUB for “for putting Northern Ireland on the map” for distinction in the arts.
Other areas that were recognised included the fields of business, education, medicine, sport, public service and the local community.
The two-time Irish Film and Television Award winner and Bafta and Golden Globe nominee said it was a “huge honour” to be awarded a doctorate for distinction in the arts.

“My dad went to this university, there are pictures in my house of my dad wearing a similar robe,” Jamie said.
“I’m very proud to be involved in this great university.”
Speaking about the honorary degrees, Queen’s University President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Greer said: “We are delighted to award honorary degrees to this group of hugely successful and inspirational group of individuals today.
“They have all played a significant role in putting Belfast and Northern Ireland on the map and we are honoured that they will be part of the Queen’s community.”
Moving away from Jamie, the question is now could his daughter follow in his footsteps?
Telling PEOPLE Magazine: “Our seven-year-old had a thing at school where she had to get up in an assembly and say what she wanted to be. She was saying she wanted to be a singer.
“And then at the sort of 11th hour, she changed it to actress, and she had to give three reasons why she wanted to be an actress.” We’ll keep an eye out so!
