Republic of Ireland player James McLean has donated wages from a commentary role to the charity of the late Derry City player Ryan McBride.
The Derry man commentated on eir Sport’s coverage of the EA Sports Cup final between Derry City and Cobh Ramblers at the Brandywell back in September, and it was revealed that he donated his paymemt to a very worthy cause.
Former Derry City captain Ryan mcBride tragically passed away in March of last year, aged just 27, and left behind a lasting legacy.
Following his death, the Ryan mcBride foundation was set up to offer support and inspiration to young people through football and education, with the charity posting the news of the Ireland footballers generous donation.
