Jake Carter got down on bended knee earlier this month to pop the question to his partner, Karen Byrne.
With Dancing with the Stars playing such a big part in their romance, the dance show also played a big part in their proposal.
The couple met on Dancing with the Stars in 2018 and lifted the Glitterball trophy during their season.
Now as a judge on the show, Karen was asked to hand over the Glitterball after she won the show with Jason Smyth in 2024.

However, it was all a ruse for Jake to propose to her on the dancefloor where they met.
Jake confessed that planning the proposal was “nerve-wracking”.
The singer shared a video of the run-up to the proposal on social media, opening up about the experience.
“I’m not gonna lie lads, this is the most nerve-wracking thing I’ve ever had to do. I didn’t have a clue,” he confessed.

“I found a jewellers online that had great reviews and went in on the Monday and basically bought the ring.
“After looking at loads of different ones, I found the ring that I hoped she would like.”
He explained how he kept the ring hidden in his guitar case so Karen wouldn’t find it. The Dancing with the Stars production crew helped him set up the fake VT so they could get engaged on the dancefloor.
Jake walked in with their beloved dog Lenny, saying: “Seven years ago we met on this dance floor, and both of our lives changed forever, so I thought it was the perfect place to come back and ask you, will you marry me.”
Karen was left speechless before Jake teased: “Well, say something. Is it a yes?”
Jake concluded the video by saying: “That was job done, but now I guess we have to plan a wedding. I really didn’t think about how quick start talking about weddings.”
