Dermot O’Leary is set to become a very busy man, as he’s reportedly ready to front a new primetime food and entertainment show on ITV.

The top Irish host is said to be teaming up with celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo for Live At The Trattoria, which will be based in an Italian restaurant, featuring celebrity guests, as well as culinary tips and cooking demonstrations from Gino.

According to reports, the two recorded a pilot for the show last Friday with former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan, but unfortunately we won’t get a chance to see it – it’s for the eyes of production bosses only.

A source told The Sun, “Dermot coming back to ITV is a big deal. Bosses have high hopes for him across the network.

“If the pilot of Live At the Trattoria is a success they will order a series, meaning he will have two big weekend shows on.”

This news comes shortly after it was alleged he could “name his price” for an X Factor return.

An insider said, “Dermot will come back to The X Factor. Talks are under way on his deal, but everything is positive. Everyone, including Dermot and Simon, has the will to make it work.

“Producers have realised you can’t take any risks with the presenter of the show. You need someone who can cope with live tv. It’s a massive skill and there are not many people who have it.”

Well Dermot has obviously impressed the right people!
