The biggest night in the Irish showbiz calendar AKA the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards, are a mere week away.
Over the past 15 years there have been ups and downs, elaborate speeches, late night hilarity and style envy – there’s simply never a dull moment!
VIP caught up a whole host of Irish celebrities to take a look back at their favourite memories from over the years.
These are gold!
Vogue Williams
“I think winning best new comer. It was really unexpected and I was so delighted to win! My sister was there with me that year so it was a really good night out.”
Brian McFadden
“My favourite moment was when Conor McGregor won and broke the world record for the most swear words in an acceptance speech.”
Rosanna Davison
“I’ll always remember my first ever awards in 2004, when it was held as a lunch in the Four Seasons… And of course winning the big prize two years ago! It was such a lovely honour and a brilliant night.”
Lisa Fitzpatrick
“2007 changed my career and opened up many opportunities. Last year was a shock. I was thrilled winning look of the year in 2015. Every year I enjoy it, have fun checking out all the style, plus I do hits and misses on Ireland AM every year. The goody bags are always mega!”
Darren Kennedy
“I’ve lots of fond memories of the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards, one of which is on the night that I was I was nominated for Most Stylish Man for the first time. Looking back now, I was a bag of nerves, it was all new to me and I didn’t know what to expect. I lost out to Marty Whelan who subsequently apologised to me for winning…hilarious in itself, what a legend Marty is!”
Madeline Mulqueen
“I adored Aoife Walsh’s turquoise two piece outfit last year I thought it suited her hair beautifully. Roz’s blue Scribe suit in 2014 was so chic as well!”
Alison Canavan
“The one that sticks out was my first one that I flew home from New York for! I had been away for such a long time so it was always great to come home and see everyone. But also my outfit last year from Caitriona Hanley after chopping off all my hair was quite daring for me and actually felt great!”
Daniella Moyles
“I have so many! My favourite is probably the year Jordan turned up with her boyfriend (who couldn’t speak any English) and his translator. I ended up sitting with them for hours at the after party – best and most hilarious night of my life. Also that time Lisa Murphy wore that see-through dress and slayed everyone. She’s literally Rihanna – obsessed with her.”
Pippa O’Connor
“Every year is always fun- I enjoyed last year the most as I won and I got to go with my ‘other’ Brian, we just had the best fun and stayed out all night. It’s my fave event of the year.”
Roz Purcell
“Definitely winning most stylish on the night 2 years ago in the blue suit.”
Sinead Desmond
“My favourite year was the year I won look of the night. Michael Doyle of Peter Marks had, as always, worked some magic on my hair. Chara at Frock N Fabulous had dressed me in a gorgeous soft feminine guna, and Rocks had me sparkling with beautiful diamond earrings, but it’s not my favourite year because I won as I really don’t consider myself stylish. But because it was my first year attending after my marriage split and I was feeling a bit shaky, I almost didn’t go, but with my brother Conor by my side and a whole lot of love from everyone in the room I had a great time. That night feels like a very long time ago, and life is wonderful now, so i can’t wait for this year. But every year is a great year, it’s always a giggle and a great time to catch up with people you haven’t seen since the last VIP awards! And as much as I’m always happier in my sports gear than a fancy frock, it is always great fun to dress up on the night!”
“Conor McGregor’s acceptance speech will always be the best. Plus, waking up with this pic!!”
Also, do you think we could leave out this golden moment? Umbrella’s at the ready folks!
