James Patrice is winding down from a busy summer. He brought us behind the scenes at Rose of Tralee, he’s been flying the flag at Pride Events around the country, and he’s been making us laugh on social media.
We joke that he’s been in Kerry so often the last few weeks and then back to Cork with The Today Show, he’s an honorary Munster Man. “If I find a Munster man and I marry one, perhaps I could move down,” he jokes, “No…he’d have to move to my house in Malahide, but we can have a nice holiday home here!”
Now he’s ready for the next season, with his podcast returning, The Today Show is coming back to our screens and he even tells us that he’s already working on this year’s Pantomime.
And he gives us an update on Dancing with the Stars…
James! You’re a busy man and things about to get busier now!
I’m back on The Today Show now in the next few weeks. Then before you know it, I’ll be getting ready for the old pantomime mode again. We’re in the Olympia again this year, We’re doing Olly goes to Oz, a Wicked-inspired panto! I’ll be playing Glinda Martin. So that’s super exciting! It’s gonna be so much fun, so there’s a busy few months, but look, it’s great to be busy.
So you’ll up all night to get lucky?
I would be up all night to get anything. Do you know what I mean?
Today you’ve been approached by so many lovely people asking for selfies. You have such a strong fanbase with the mammies and grannies of Ireland. Do you wear that like a badge of honour?
Oh, very much so. I have so much time for anyone who follows me. It’s a real blessing and a privilege of this job. But the ladies who follow me especially are amazing. I’m a ladies man, even though I don’t like the ladies in that sense of the word! I always say, the women are the ones who life us up and give us a platform. So I’m very thankful.

Yes, our podcast, A Beautiful Breakdown, is filming soon! We’ve season two coming up. So we have international makeup launches on the new series. Oh and we have our first man who is a sex symbol. I can’t say who, but he’s a very sexy man.

Ah yes! We embarked on a trip, and it will honestly the funniest few days of my life. I’m obsessed with Karen, and I just can’t wait for it. I haven’t seen it myself! But I can’t wait for everyone else to watch it!
James, we have to ask about Danicng with the Stars. Do you know if it’s coming back?
You’re guess is as good as mine. I hope it’s coming back. I think it’d be ridiculous not to bring it back because it’s such a great show. It brings so many people so much joy, especially in January when everyone’s expected miserable. It’s a positive show on the TV. I’d be very surprised to see it go!
