Ben Foden has opened up about coping with his divorce from Irish singer Una Healy.
The English rugby player was married to Una for over seven years, and had two children together when they went their seperate ways last July following a cheating scandal.
Now, the 33-year-old is opening up about how he got through the difficult time.
Speaking about his appearance on new reality tv show SAS: Who Dares Wins, in which celebrities are put through their paces in military style training, Ben said it was exactly what he needed.
“I had literally just finished playing at Northampton and my divorce had just come out.” he told The Daily Mail.
“I was in a bit of a weird head space. I needed something to focus on and challenge myself mentally and physically.
“It gave me a little perspective on what was going on in my life. It was liberating.”
The former Northampton Saints player recently opened up about how he and Una are keeping things civil for the sake of their two kids, Aoife Belle and Tadhg.
Speaking to Now magazine, Ben said, “Our relationship is actually quite good. I stay at the family home whenever I want to see the kids.
“We’re keeping it civil and hopefully we can remain friends. We’ll always have a future because she’s the mother of my children.”
