Big Brother runner-up Hughie Maughan has opened up about the “strong feelings” he has for fellow housemate, Ryan Ruckledge.
21-year-old Hughie, who is a member of the travelling community, is now planning on moving in with his now boyfriend Ryan over in the UK.
Speaking to The Irish Sun he said, “Myself and Ryan are a couple but we would never have gotten together in the outside world.
“We are so different. But we were forced together in the Big Brother house and found these strong feelings for one another. Now we are finding out what’s it like to be on the outside.”
The Dublin native was favourite to win this season of the hit reality show, but in the end lost out to Jason Burrill. However, at the finale the 21-year-old seemed overcome with emotion reuniting with Ryan, rather than upset at narrowly missing the BB crown.
“I haven’t got a clue why I didn’t win.
“Maybe I was favourite for so long, people didn’t think they had to vote for me. People in Ireland couldn’t vote for me but aside from that I don’t know,” he said.
