How to get festival ready – top tips and tricks!

Check out our super cool trials below:

VIP recently hosted a fun, festival themed reader event with award winning hair salon Davey Davey and Fuchsia make-up, for the ultimate girls night out.

A number of our lucky readers were treated to an evening of pampering, where they learned top festival hair tips from the master stylists in Davey Davey’s new Stephen Street salon. There were also make-up demonstrations by Fuchsia make-up, and guests were treated to nibbles and festival drinks courtesy of Platform 61. While all this was going on, there was a live band, The Fitzafrenic, who performed a whole host of tracks for guests in the salon. Yeah, it was one busy evening!

The aim of the night was for people to learn the best tips and tricks for getting festival ready, and that, they certainly did!

Hairdressers in Davey Davey thought everyone an array of plaits, including Dutch braids, French braids, rope braids with a fish hook down the side, two braids down the middle, and ones right around the back.

She told VIP, “It doesn’t matter what type of plait you do, it’s just important to get it off your face.

“It’s easy to manage and should stay in place for the whole event. Plus, as it always rains at these events, it’s so handy to have it in braids!”

VIP tried out some of these braids, and we’re sold!

While hair is sorted, we then turned to Fuchsia’s make-up artist to learn about the beauty trend for festivals this summer. She told VIP, it’s all about bold eyes! “Purples, purples and more purples!  We use our eye shimmer Wild Violet and then eye shadow in Magnetic and Vineyard on the lid. Use ILine Sealer to turn it into a foil type shadow. Then use eye shimmer Beige Breeze, top it all off with eyeliner and mascara, et voila!”
