Jamie Dornan has admitted that starring as Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise has changed his life for the better.
Many critics have slammed the original film, and its newly released sequel, but Co. Down native Jamie has stated that he doesn’t mind when people have negative things to say about it.
The role has opened a lot of doors for the actor, earned him a lot of money and allowed him to star in films he’d always dreamed of, such as The Siege of Jadotville.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror Jamie said, “People are entitled to their opinion and there are lots of people who hated it.
“It made a lot of money, but lots of people didn’t like it and had objections about me, about Dakota, how it was made, how it looked and what scenes were kept in and what scenes weren’t.
“I think it’s changed my life and a lot more people know who I am, I guess, as a result of it.
“It opens doors in the industry and I have to be honest here, if you are in a movie that makes over 600 million dollars worldwide at the box office, that helps your career and that means that you can get things like The Siege of Jadotville and Anthropoid made, based on your involvement.
“I wouldn’t have been able to do those projects that I was desperate to do, had I not been in a film that made that much money.”
Fifty Shades Darker hits cinemas nationwide today.
