VIP Towers is still obsessing over Saoirse Ronan’s show-stopping red carpet appearance for the Oscars.
Her emerald green custom-made Calvin Klein gown has everyone debating whether she was the best dressed on the night, while her tousled hair and smoky make up topped off the smouldering look.
And as it turns out, the 21-year-old went for some products to get her Oscar-ready that won’t break the bank; in fact her hair product of choice cost less than a mere €8.
The Brooklyn actress, who lost to Brie Larson in the Best Actress category at Sunday night’s ceremony, chose to use the affordable John Frieda range, according to her hair stylist Adir Abergel.
Adir explained she wanted ‘relaxed’ hair, so he opted for John Frieda Luxurious Volume Perfectly Full Mousse, which is available in Boots for just €7.99. He applied this all over the roots on towel dried hair then air-dried her ‘do with 100-percent cold air to get maximum volume before using a medium sized round brush to dry with hot air to form the style.
Next up, he separated the hair into two-inch sections and wrapped each around a Velcro roller covering the entire head before using the Luxurious Volume Forever Full Hairspray (also in Boots for the same price) all over her head, backcombed the front pieces for a ‘sexy side swept effect’, then misted more hairspray to finish.
“I wanted to give her an undone, textured blowout with a brushed out beautiful wave hand raked back away from the face,” he told Pret-a-reporter.
We reckon there might be a slight scramble in the hair section in Boots over the coming few days – see you there?
