It was previously reported that Irish actor, Aidan Turner, was in the running to be the next James Bond. However, now it seems that the tv star will not be gracing our screens as 007.
It has just been announced that Poldark will be returning to the BBC for a third series, and for Aidan to accept the role of Bond he would have to give up Poldark – something he’s not wiling to do.
Mammoth Screen is the production company for the period drama, and managing director Damien Timmer, told the BBC that everyone involved with the show are very excited about filming another series.
“Poldark is a passion project for all of us, and it’s with real excitement that we prepare for both the launch of series two and our return to Cornwall to shoot series three,” he said.
Series two of the show will consist of ten episodes, and is set to air on BBC One soon. It will see Dublin born Aidan starring as Ross Poldark, again, just after he returns from the War of Independence.
We can’t wait to see the new series!
