Xposé may seem like an extremely glamorous and fun job, but presenters Glenda Gilson and Lisa Cannon have admitted that’s certainly not always the case.
In fact, the hosts have revealed that it’s not easy fronting the show, along with Karen Koster, Aisling O’Loughlin and Peter O’Riordan.
“You think it’s all glitz, glamour, camera, action, I’m fabulous,” Glenda admitted. “The work you’ve got to do behind and keep up and come home at midnight and get back in here and look fresh and just say nothing.”
As the show prepares to recruit two new people for maternity covers for pregnant Karen and Aisling, Lisa has revealed what is required to be a showbiz reporter.
“I would say you need to have pointy elbows, big hair and a loud voice because if you’re on a red carpet, you have to manoeuvre everyone out of the way, make yourself larger than life and you have to bellow to get the stars to come over to you,” she told the Irish Mirror.
“If you’re meek and you’re quiet, it never happens. You have to be quite feisty and have a Duracell bunny constitution because the job is exhausting, the hours are long, and you just have to keep cranking the engines.”
