This month, VIP’s cover star is the one and only Georgie Crawford.
She has just released her first book and she is set to become a mother for the second time.
As she chats with us, she admits that she and her husband, Jamie were unsure where to go after their surrogacy journey was put on pause.
They had originally planned to go through Ukraine and welcome their second child that way.
“We were planning to do an embryo transfer there on February 21st 2022, and unfortunately because of the war, that didn’t happen for us,” she tells us.
“I made peace with this and we decided to do nothing at all about our surrogacy journey because we were so shocked by it all.”
Then they found a glimmer of hope that saw them find a new country where they could restart their surrogacy journey.
They did the embryo transfer on Georgie’s birthday who says she felt in that moment that “the universe had my back”.
“The birthday was the sign to say, everything is going to be okay,” she tells us in our exclusive interview.
Georgie and Jamie are already parents to six-year-old Pia, who Georgie carried herself. The author admits that baby number two is “completely different”.
“I felt so close to Pia when she was growing in my tummy and I always wondered how’d I feel if another lady was carrying my baby and to be honest the feeling did, at times, overwhelm me.”
However, she admits that since announcing the news she feels like the “baby is within me”.
She laughs that she doesn’t want to “sound crazy” but she feels that she is “spiritually…connected” to her second child.
