The Garrihy sisters have revealed their hopes of raising €2,500 for charity.
Doireann announced last night she would be taking part in the VHI mini marathon with sister Ailbhe in a bid to raise much needed funds for Irish charity, Elevate.
Elevate is a non profit organisation based in the girls’ home county, Clare, which hopes to introduce health and wellness workshops in secondary schools.
Hotelier John Burke is also fundraising for Elevate by climbing Mount Everest, where his wife Aoibhin Garrihy accompanied him to base camp.
Ailbhe is very proud of her brother-in-law’s efforts and has said, “In complete awe of John as he (hopefully) realises his dream within the next 24 hours. This will be a doddle (even for myself and Di!) in comparison, but we would really appreciate any donations to help us reach our target and get Elevate into action in September”.
