Five exercises we’re obsessed with this summer

The sun is out and that means that we’re eager to spend time outside this summer.

And while we don’t always love working out, we’re kind of like plants so we can get a bit more active when the sun is out. Yes, seriously.

Take a look at the five exercises we’re obsessed with this summer!

Yoga

Yoga has to be the best exercise to do during the summer – because you can do it outside.

There are plenty of outdoor classes happening around the country as the sun peaks out. If you want to stay at home, worry not because you can pull up some great videos on Youtube and take to your garden or your balcony.

We also love Yoga with Maura and Erica Bracken‘s classes.

We mean, why pay for hot yoga when you can just wait until the sun is out and get to work?!

Pilates

Want to take a step up from yoga?

Well, everyone is a “Pilates Princess” now so why don’t you give it a go? Just like yoga, you can do this at home with plenty of Youtube classes.

If you want more structured classes without leaving your home try out the Pilates Programme. Cloud Pilates also offer incredible events every few months so we always like to keep an eye on what they’re up to.

If you’re curious about Reformer Pilates you can read all about that here.

Tennis

We told you all about tennis core but it’s not just fashion.

You can definitely grab a tennis racket and channel your inner Serena Williams this summer. We mean, Wimbledon is just around the corner.

Not feeling tennis? Why not take up badminton? Or the more trendy Pickleball or Padel? You’ll work up a sweat in no time.

It also helps that the outfits are very cute.

Swimming

Pool swimming. Sea swimming. Grab your togs and jump in.

We’ve often heard that swimming is the best exercise as it works out the whole body. And it’s definitely a bit of craic when you gather all your friends together.

We love Helen AKA The Wandering Selkie for all your swimming inspo!

If you go sea swimming it’s always an excuse to get a nice sweet treat afterwards!

Ah, hiking! It has become a massive trend in recent years.

Ireland has some of the most beautiful trails in the world. You can take relaxed hikes around some of our gorgeous forests or challenge yourself with the hills and mountains around the country.

You can get plenty of inspiration from Roz Purcell’s The Hike Life or Galz Gone Wild.

It’s the perfect way to spend the summer months!
