And this week will be even more special this weekend.
The spotlight will be on the Julian Benson Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in a Room to Improve special, which embarks on a deeply personal mission for founder Julian Benson.
Throughout the episode, he hopes to create a home away from home in Dublin for people living with Cystic Fibrosis and their families during hospital treatments.
Following the purchase of a three-storey Georgian house, Julian wanted to turn it into a safe haven.
Dermot Bannon and the amazing team of tradespeople as they strip the 162-year-old house to the bare walls, retrofitting, regenerating and bringing this beautiful building up to modern standards.
With conservation a key element in the renovation of Tranquility House, Dermot and his team will ensure as many of the original features of the house are saved and restored. Alongside Dermot, the show will feature interior designer Celine Collins and well-known TV builder Brandon Duarte, known for his love of a challenge.
“When we took on the monumental task of renovating a 162-year-old house with no funds in the bank, we knew it wouldn’t be easy,” Louise Doogan, CEO, Julian Benson Cystic Fibrosis Foundation confessed.
“But we also knew we had something far more valuable – a community of people who believed in our cause. Through our strategic call-outs to businesses across Ireland, we received an outpouring of generosity and support. Their unwavering belief, combined with the skills and dedication of countless tradespeople and volunteers, turned what seemed impossible into reality.
“Tranquility House is not just a building; it is a powerful symbol of what can be achieved when we come together as a community. This is a lasting legacy for everyone involved and for the CF community, offering hope, comfort, and a true home away from home for years to come.”
