Republic of Telly returned to our screens last night, but according to some disappointed fans on Twitter, it fell a bit short.
STELLAR Shine Award nomiee, Joanne McNally joined the cast and while people found her funny, they were underwhelmed by the show as a whole.
Earlier this year former front woman Jennifer Maguire revealed that she wouldn’t be back on the show, saying “I’ve done it for seven years. It was very hard to say it. It was a very tough deacons but I won’t be back for this season.”
Jennifer and Bernard O’Shea quit the show to work on a spin off series, and it seems this is what people are missing most about Republic of Telly.
One user said, “Gutted there’s no more Bridget and Eamonn”, while another said, “Republic of Telly without Jen and Bernard is like the Brendan O’Connor Show with Ray D’Arcy” – tough crowd!
Perhaps the show will win people back around by the end of the season, but if these tweets are anything to go by, it’s not going to be an easy task.
