Event Guide: heres what’s happening around the country this weekend

There's some great events going happening!

Get out and about and enjoy everything the country has to offer this weekend, with a whole host of exciting events taking place across the country.

We’ve picked our favourite choices of things to do around Ireland, so whether you’re a fan of music, comedy or nights out on the town, all interests are covered!

Saturday, January 19th – The Last Hurrah at Lillies!

Famous Dublin hotspot Lillies Bordello’s announced late last year that they would be closing their doors in 2019.

The nightclub has hosted countless celebs and exclusive parties over the years, and this weekend will be throwing one final bask for old times sake.

Entry will be €10 on Saturday 19th January, Doors open at 10pm and DJ Tommy Stewart will be spinning your favourite 90s and 00s floor-fillers.

 

 

January 18th & 19th – Bohemian Rhapsody Sing A Long, Pálás Galway.

This weekend enjoy a unique cinema experience at Pálás Galway, with a sing-along version of hit movie, Bohemian Rhapsody.

The Golden Globe nominated film will be playing in cinemas around the country, encouraging viewers to get up and join in with Freddie to some of the band’s songs such as Don’t Stop Me Now, We Will Rock You and Somebody To Love.

January 19th – FAT CHANCERS: BERNARD O’SHEA AND KARL SPAIN, The Everyman Cork

Irish comedians Benard O’Shea and Karl Spain take their hilarious Fat Chancers show to the Everyman in Cork city this Saturday – in what is sure to a great night!

The lads will be entertaining crowds from 8pm and there are still some tickets available to buy.

Sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday night!

January 19tth – 27th – Letterkenny Trad Week, Co. Donegal

Trad Week

Letterkenny hosts it’s annual Trad Week from this weekend, and there are some great acts lined up to take part!

The concerts are taking place across the county, five at the Regional Cultural Centre and the final concert at An Grianán Theatre.

Traditional artists such as Zoe Conway & John McIntyre, and Seamus McGuire & John Lee will be taking to the stages, and tickets start from free of charge. Head over here to find tickets.
