You may know her for her roles in the Harry Potter movies, but Evanna Lynch has been working steadily since the iconic franchise came to an end.
She has predominantly been working on stage in recent years.
But now it has been revealed that the Louth woman is returning to the silver screen with an iconic role.
She will be playing James Joyce’s daughter in James & Lucia.
Deadline announced the news adding that Anatomy of a Scandal’s Rupert Friend will play James Joyce in the film.
“Based on the final decade of Joyce’s life, firstly in Paris then in Zurich, the film highlights his struggles with his fading eyesight and, centrally, his attempts to protect his beloved daughter, Lucia,” Deadline reported on the plot of the film.
It’s not Evanna’s first time playing Lucia. In 2021, she performed a stage production of Calico over Zoom in the same role.
Lucia was a professional dancer who was diagnosed as schizophrenic in the 1930s and institutionalised in Switzerland and the UK.
She died aged 75 in St Andrew’s Hospital, Northampton in 1982, having been a patient there for over 30 years.
Filming for the upcoming movie will start later this year in Italy. We can’t wait to watch.
