Emma Power has been working in RTÉ 2FM since 2014.
“We have built a really nice community with our listeners and it’s been so lovely hosting with Roz. We’ve just been having the craic,” Emma tells VIP Magazine as we catch up at the launch of this year’s Platinum VIP Style Awards.
Emma is nominated for Most Stylish Newcomer Sponsored by Club L. And she admits she “can’t believe” she’s nominated. It’s a well-deserved nom!
She admits that she and Roz found out about the show in the summer and have been working hard to create their dream show before going to air two months ago.
“We had covered The 2 Johnnies over the summer for a few weeks. I think both of us hoped going into that we’d get something from it. But we didn’t know if we would or not,” she admits.
“But when my boss came into me towards the end of the cover and told us that we were going to get a show I think the two of us almost passed out. We were so shocked. That was last summer and we started in February so we had a few months to plan the show and get ourselves sorted.”
Outside of her show, she’s a busy woman as she still contributes to The 2 Johnnies’ radio show on Monday and Tuesday.
“I do a lot of DJing outside of that, I’m booked in for Indiependence Festival. I have a few other gigs coming up. I’m really trying to get my name out there DJing.”
