Nine TV series to binge this weekend

One thing we can all agree on is that the weekend evenings are getting colder and darker by the day. Once the clock strikes 8pm sometimes there is nothing better than grabbing your favourite treat or a cheeky glass of wine and scrolling through your chosen streaming platform.

Luckily for you, we have gathered intel on all the newest releases over a range of streaming platforms, so you don’t have to bog your mind down on the search for the perfect Saturday night show.

So instead of settling for that show you have watched 100 times after getting stressed out searching for something new, just keep reading.

Nobody Wants This (Netflix)

This rom-com by Erin Foster follows two singletons in their mid-thirties, Joanne (Kristin Bell) a successful sex and dating podcast host, and Noah (Adam Brody) a Rabbi who unexpectedly fall in love.

This series consists of ten hilarious 30-minute episodes and viewers are already praying for season two.

Dead and Buried (BBC)

Annabel Scholey and Colin Morgan star in this thrilling drama which follows Cathy as she meets her brother’s killer, Michael, 20 years after the incident.

Cathy sets out on a vengeful path to ruin the new life of the man who’s responsible for her brother’s death.

Heartstopper: Season 3 (Netflix)

Season three of the much-loved coming of age drama, Heartstopper, premiered on Netflix on October 3rd. The series, which is based on the graphic novels by Alice Oseman, follows Charlie, a gay schoolboy, and amiable rugby player Nick. The two teenagers form a friendship, which blossoms into something more.

The super cutesy series deals with some deeper topics in a wholesome way that will have you falling in love with the characters. We can’t wait to binge season three this weekend!

Tell Me Lies: Season 2 (Disney+)

Tell Me Lies season one followed the toxic and tumultuous relationship of Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson Wright) during Lucy’s first year at Baird College.

The first season of this dark college-inspired drama included a fatal car accident, cheating and much more drama which we can expect to see carry over to season two. The first two episodes aired on Disney+ on September 4th and will stream weekly until October 16th.

Outer Banks: Season 4 (Netflix)

At the end of season three of Outer Banks, we saw the Pogues finally being commemorated for their treasure-hunting adventure. If you thought they were just about to settle down and enjoy their newfound wealth, you would be very wrong.

Season four sees the group of adolescents embark on a brand-new treasure hunt, hunting for the treasure of the Blackbeard no less. We can be sure to expect lots of near-death experiences, funny moments and a touch of romance. I mean, did you really expect them to stay out of trouble? Season four part one begins streaming on October 10th.

Disclaimer (Apple TV)

This seven-part drama based on the novel by Renée Knight follows famous journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (Cate Blanchett) as her deepest darkest secret is threatened by a book delivered to her home.

The thrilling trailer anticipates lots of drama as Catherine seeks to find the writer of this novel which has the ability to destroy her life. The series begins streaming on Friday, October 11th.

Agatha All Along (Disney +)

We have found the perfect Halloweeny escape for Marvel lovers. Agatha All Along is a spin-off from Marvel Studio’s WandaVision. The series tells the story of a witch named Agatha Harkness who wakes up from a spell cast on her with the help of a teenager.

In the show, Agatha must walk the deadly Witches Road to regain the magic that she has lost. PS, you may want to watch WandaVison first.

The Rings of Power (Prime Video)

Lord of the Rings is one of the biggest film series ever! Regardless of if you love fantasy or not, you remember those first films being everywhere.

Prime Video is bringing us back into Middle Earth with a brand new story set centuries before the events of the film trilogy. The second season just wrapped up and we are just glued to our screens as we see how those important rings were first forged.

Ciarán Hinds joined the series this season and we love to see it!

Prison Break (Netflix)

Although it is certainly not a new show, Prison Break has recently been introduced to Netflix.

The riveting five season series follows structural engineer, Michael Schofield as he attempts to break his brother, Lincoln, who is on death row, out of prison. It is safe to say you will be easily hooked by all the twists and turns of the brother’s deadly escape.
