One of the most highly anticipated musicals is coming to Ireland next year and the cast has just been announced.
Eastenders star Aaron Sidwell, who plays Steven Beale in the soap, is set to play Fiyero in the production of Wicked.
Also cast is Amy Ross as Elphaba and Helen Woolf as Glinda.
The West End and Broadway musical phenomenon is due to fly back to Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in July.
A statement today revealed the rest of the exiting cast: “We’re delighted to announce that Amy Ross (Elphaba), Helen Woolf (Glinda), Aaron Sidwell (Fiyero), Steven Pinder (The Wizard and Doctor Dillamond), Kim Ismay (Madame Morrible), Emily Shaw (Nessarose), Iddon Jones (Boq) and Nikki Bentley (Standby for Elphaba) will lead the cast of the spectacular, critically acclaimed and multi record-breaking UK & Ireland Tour.”
For anyone who isn’t familiar with the brilliant show, Wicked tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz: Elphaba and Glinda.
Wicked returns to Bord Gáis Energy Theatre for a strictly limited 7 week run from 17 July to 1 September 2018. One of the most successful productions in the venue’s history, the show was previously seen by over 130,000 people during its celebrated Irish premiere engagement in 2013.
