Rhys McClenaghan did Ireland proud on the world stage last summer at the Paris Olympics.
He secured his first gold medal at the event after a disappointing 2020.
2025 started out on a similarly positive note as he took part in Dancing with the Stars.
He went on to win the competition alongside his pro-partner, Laura Nolan.

However, he has now revealed that he has suffered a set back in his gymnastics career.
He took to Instagram to reveal that he would have to pull out of the European Championships after sustaining an injury.
“Unfortunate news… I won’t be competing at this year’s European Championships,” he explained.
“I tried my best to push through preparation but an injury kept holding me back. I chose to prioritise being healthy and recovering for future competitions this year and be sure that I can put out my best work yet. I may not be retaining my European title but the path to being the GOAT is still very clear.”

He was met with sweet comments from his Dancing with the Stars family.
“You’ll be back stronger than ever! Always tough but you’ll be back with a bang,” Laura Nolan wrote.
“It will all come good. Chin up pal,” Kayleigh Trappe added.
While Gearóid Farrelly commented: “Don’t worry Spidey you’ll come back stronger and smash it!”
Get well soon, Rhys!
