Dubliner Brian Gilligan just missed out on a place in the live final of Britain’s Got Talent.

The Coolock native took to the stage in London’s Hammersmith Apollo last night, where he performed a heartfelt rendition of Freya Riding’s, Lost Without You.

Despite his best efforts, the Commitments singer didn’t make it to the next round of the competition. He has no hard feelings, however, saying he “loved every minute of it.”

Last year, Brian was left devastated by the sudden death of his brother. Overcome with grief, the singer considered giving up his career in music altogether.

Speaking of that difficult period, Brian said, “After losing my brother, I hit a low. A year later, it’s still going through my head. The real question I faced was, do I want to continue doing music?”

Now, Brian hopes to continue his passion for music, with a promising future in the West End ahead of him.

Britain’s Got Talent continues tonight at 8pm.
