Donald Trump has cancelled his trip to Ireland next week for an unexplained reason. It was announced earlier this month that the controversial US presidential candidate would be visiting his hotel and golf resort in Doonbeg, Co. Clare at the end of June.
According to Irish Central, the billionaire was due to visit Ireland on June 24th but a release from Trump’s press team shows no such trip scheduled.
Press Tour Director for the Trump campaign, Stephanie Grisham, confirmed the news that the Republican delegate would now only be visiting Scotland.
In a statement released today about the trip, a spokeswoman for the Trump air charter company said that she was unaware of any Irish travel plans. Hmmm…
Taoiseach Enda Kenny and a number of other Irish government ministers made comments recently, criticising Trump. Maybe this is the reason for his abrupt cancellation?
