This comes after a gruelling couple of weeks following the RTÉ payments scandal. The RTÉ radio presenter fell under scrutiny during the payments scandal for using RTÉ facilities for branded content without clearing it with a line manager prior to filming.
RTÉ told Extra.ie that Doireann didn’t have permission to use RTÉ facilities for filming the ad.
They said: “Permission was given by RTÉ to Doireann Garrihy for the commercial post, however permission was not given for the use of RTÉ facilities. RTÉ has comprehensive social media guidelines that all employees (staff and contractors) are contractually obliged to adhere to.”
The post has since been taken down from her Instagram.
