Doireann Garrihy is back on air!
She returned to 2FM after six months, swapping breakfast for drivetime.
2FM Drive with Doireann Garrihy will air from 3pm-6pm. With Doireann in the driving seat, she will have a mix of the hottest tracks, entertainment updates, and feel-good vibes to power the evening commute. Expect fun, high energy and plenty of laughs.
And she has admitted that she was nervous to return to radio.
Beginning her show on Monday, she said: “Oh my goodness! We’re live, and welcome along to 2FM Drive with Doireann Garrihy.”
She was met with cheers and applause, prompting her to joke: “I may have rented a crowd. I may have asked the team to come in and give me a little clap in the background because I was a tiny bit scared just to get up and running.”
She kickstarted the show with her famous impressions, pretending to be Late Late Show host Patrick Kielty as she reintroduced herself saying “she only got as far as the car park” in reference to her short hiatus from the station.
She also joked that she was the “only person in Ireland to ever get married”.

Speaking about her decision to return to the show, she said: “I had done four years of breakfast, ten years of kind of mad busyness, and I just needed a bit of a break, and so I took a leap of faith and took a break.
“I never could have anticipated how much I would miss it. I knew I would miss it. I just didn’t think I would miss it as much with the year as it was kind of planned out. I knew what I had coming up. I was obviously getting married.”
Well, we’re delighted to have her back.
