Dil Wickremasinghe has landed a new role, she announced today.
The radio show host was let go from her Newstalk show Global Village earlier this month.
Fans and listeners were devastated with the news, with many praising Dil for her talents.
Thankfully the broadcaster has announced an exciting new project with Headstuff.
The mum-of-two will join the organisation with a podcast called Sparking Change with Dil.
“Sparking Change with Dil is going to carry on the work I began on Global Village a decade ago, but it’s going to be even more ambitious,” she told Headstuff.
The show will be every Friday morning at 9am starting this week.
Dil took to Twitter to share the exciting news in which she said: “Did you think I could be silenced? Never!”

This comes just a few weeks after Dil was fired from Newstalk, a short time after she refused to present her show after George Hook made some controversial comments about rape.
In a statement she released about leaving the station, she said: ““Earlier today I met with Newstalk management who told me that despite positive ratings and performance, my Saturday night radio show “Global Village” has been cancelled,”
“I am shocked and deeply disappointed at this sudden news.
“10 years ago, I set out to create a unique radio show which served as a platform to highlight the voices of the most vulnerable in our society and the issues that affect their lives – issues that I personally care passionately about.”
We can’t wait to give Dil’s new podcast a listen!
