We’re excited to have Ciara Doherty back in our life!
Yes, the former The Tonight Show host announced her departure from Virgin Media back in November.
But now after some time away to just be a mother, Ciara has announced that she is returning to the world of news.
And we couldn’t be more excited.
Ciara revealed that she would be joining Newstalk for a brand new podcast.
Sharing the news on social media, Newstalk wrote: “We’re launching a new podcast – Newstalk Daily!
“Hosted by Ciara Doherty and launching on Monday 23rd June, Newstalk Daily will focus on a story that has captured the public’s imagination and has everyone talking.
“Get your 20-minute expert guide to the big stories of the moment whether you are at work, travelling or whenever and wherever you want to be in the know.”

In the video, Ciara explains the podcast will “take a deeper dive” into the big news stories of the week.
“Each weekday we’ll feature one story that has the country talking. Bringing you richer insights, wider analysis and compelling voices, both here and abroad,” she said.
We can’t wait to tune in!
“It turns out I’m a news addict and I still tune in all of the time. I still read my newspapers, listen to the radio, follow the bulletins, and listen to podcasts on a daily basis. I mean how can you not get stuck into it? it’s so absorbing. So, no, that aspect of my life hasn’t changed,” she confessed.
