Before his death, Charlie shared details of what he would like to happen at his funeral.
He wanted The Parting Glass by Bruce Springsteen played at his funeral. He also asked for his two daughters Orla and Neasa to say a few words at the service, as well as his long-time friend Joe Duffy.
The Dubliner also revealed how he would like the LGBTQ+ community to be involved with his funeral. Hoping friends will speak on the day, “and place a Pride flag on my coffin.”
He added that he wanted his final resting place to be the Aran Island of Inisheer, where he hoped to have his ashes scattered beside his best friend of 50 years.
