Brian McFadden has opened up about his relationship with Kerry Katona.
The former Westlife star was married to Kerry for two years, and they split in 2004.
However, the pair have kept in touch for the sake of their two children, Molly and Lilly-Sue, but Brian explains the relationship is “the best it’s ever been”.
“We don’t speak about everyday stuff but we do work closely with anything to do with our kids, the same as most separated parents it’s always about the kids,” he told the Sun.
“Our relationship is the best it has ever been. There are no fights or arguments, its all good now. It’s taken a long time to get there but I’m glad it’s like that. Kerry seems happy. She has a new boyfriend and her work is going well, doing gigs with Atomic Kitten.”
Brian is now in a relationship with Danielle Parkinson but says the pair are taking things slow.
“Myself and Danielle are not planning anything, we are only together a year. People asking me about having kids? We don’t have any plans. We are just moving forward. We don’t know what’s going to happen.”
The singer also spoke about performing Westlife songs and why the other band members shouldn’t have an issue with it.
“If they did object, it would be ridiculous because Shane is doing Westlife songs on his tour, and Markus is doing Westlife on his tour.”
“I only sing the 12 Westlife number ones I sang while I was in the band. I’ve as much right to sing them as anyone else who was in Westlife then. I don’t sing the songs Westlife did after I left. I leave that to them.”
