Brian Dowling has shared a beautiful moment of his eldest daughter Blake visiting his mother, Rose’s grave.
Brian was close to his mother and was left devastated after her passing in 2018.
In the sweet clip, Blake can be seen playing at the grave with Brian saying that it would bring his mother “so much joy”.
He wrote: “Blake is ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with stones & pebbles & we have no idea why. Some days, she even puts them in her mouth & we do be terrified.

“Like anything else I’ve learnt when it comes to parenthood, this is a phase & will soon pass & to be honest the sooner the better. To see her today at the Graveyard Mass in Rathangan playing with the stones on mums grave actually brought so much joy to all of us.”
He went on to say: “Mum passed in 2018, so unfortunately, she didn’t meet her newest grandchildren. Blake was so happy & having so much fun playing with the stones. This would bring Mum so much joy to see her granddaughter so happy & carefree.”
He went on to discuss his relationship with grief, admitting: “I’ve had quite a complicated relationship with grief, so seeing this today brought me such warmth & love. For those that don’t know, I actually have a podcast that discusses grief & loss called @deathbecomeshimbybdg.”
Yes, he confirmed the podcast would be returning after a three year break.
“We currently have 4 Seasons of this, but I put it on pause the year Arthur & I wanted to start our family. So, two daughters & 3 years later, I do think it is time to record another Season.
“Doing Death Becomes Him is FULL ON & so EMOTIONAL as you are constantly surrounded by grief, death, sadness & loss. Doing the podcast helped me so so much on my grief journey & I shall be FOREVER grateful to those who sat down with me & chatted so openly. Blake is also OBSESSED with her cousin Leah.”
How lovely.
