Brian Dowling and Arthur Gourounlian’s life changed forever when they became parents.
They welcomed their daughter, Blake late last year via surrogate.
The couple has been open about their journey to become parents and created a documentary about surrogacy and welcoming baby Blake.
Now they will be delving into everything in their new book – Brian Dowling & Arthur Gourounlian’s Modern Family. Births, Marriage, Deaths and Everything in Between.

Arthur commented: “I can not BELIEVE it. OMG, it’s out there it’s HAPPENING.”
“This has been such a passion project for us and probably the most therapeutic thing we have ever done together. I’ve been asked to write a book many times but it never felt right,” Brian continued.

“I always felt I was too young and wanted to be older and have experienced life in all its forms so then I could honestly sit down and put pen to paper.
“This is a book about our lives together and separately and the dream we had of creating our own family together,” he went on to say.
“We reflect on it all. The adversity, the love and the grief, are something we all experience to achieve our dreams. Writing this book has been an emotional rollercoaster. Looking back on the night we first met to now living in Ireland and raising our BEAUTIFUL daughter Blake together.”
He went on to say: “But of course, none of that came without a fight, a fight to discover who we are as individuals; who we could become as partners; the struggle to be taken seriously in our careers; the rigmarole we’d have to go through just to get married and to later have the child we so desperately wanted.
“We even had to fight at times for survival. As we all know life is a crazy journey of twists and turns and sliding doors. It’s sometimes really hard and at other times extraordinarily joyous.
He concluded by writing: “None of us know what’s around the corner or what other people are going through beneath the surface. We have one wish for all the readers of our book; that you realise that anything is possible with hard work and determination and that you are worthy.
He went on to say that readers should “surround yourself with the best people who make you feel like a superstar”.
Brian added that it may take some time but just like himself and Arthur you’ll get your “happily ever after”.
