Bressie will release his new book detailing his mental health journey next week titled ‘Me and My Mate Jeffrey’. ‘Jeffrey’ is the name the singer gives to his anxiety.
The Voice of Ireland star took to Twitter today to share his excitement about the release of the eagerly awaited read.

On the back of the success from his My 1000 Hours mental health blog, Bressie will detail his difficulties with depression and anxiety throughout his teens and into adulthood. He’s become an important spokesperson for mental health in Ireland and now Bressie looks set to beat his model girlfriend Rozanna Purcell to the publishing post this year.
The tell-all book encourages readers to seek help if they are suffering from the ‘black dog’.
Bressie has become an advocate of mental health awareness since speaking up about his battle with anxiety and depression and is remembered for his uber brave speech at the Lovin’ Dublin Live show.
On the subject of book he told the Independent: “I decided to write a book outlining my journey with my mental health and by outlining some of the mistakes I made – such as not seeking help when I needed it – I hope to help others make better choices.”
“I also want to highlight some of the ways I was able to manage my issues and even use them to motivate me, or give me an edge. It’s important that we normalise the conversation surrounding mental health in this county and I hope this book can contribute to that in some way.”
Here at VIP Towers we commend the musician’s courage and will be sure to get our hands on a copy when it hits the shelves next week!
